Alphas Renewed for second season!

Alphas Renewed for second season!

Sorry dear readers for having been absent for more than a week and being a bit late with the customary triad of SyFy channel reviews but college has been hell at the moment and of course takes first priority. Be sure to know that the Warehouse 13 review is still in the making but last weeks episodes of Eureka and Alphas were below par and could be rated mediocre rather of hand. Speaking of mediocre I have the duty to...

Warehouse 13 ‘Past imperfect’ review!

Warehouse 13 ‘Past imperfect’ review!

This is one of those strange episodes were Warehouse 13 tries to get all serious and against the odds it actually works. Season 2 also had such episodes though I have forgotten theor names it is nontheless a strange gambit as Warehouse 13 normally has to succeed with being goofy with its characters and clever with its artifacts. Certainly the show more often than I would like just ‘Jumps the shark’ but ehere is a thread of episodes right from...

New Fringe Teaser!

New Fringe Teaser!

Here is the fourth Fringe teaser entitled ‘Where is Peter Bishop?”, similar to the first three teasers they stay true to their category with only revealing tiny snippets of information. The shows creative staff always kinda like these sorts of mystery things, its gets the buzz going for their show…. and it does seem to be working, there is already quite a bit of buzz surrounding season 4 of Fringe. Despite the creative staff of Fringe being from ‘Bad Robot...

Eureka ‘Clash of the Titans’ review!

Eureka ‘Clash of the Titans’ review!

This weeks episode Eureka sees Fargo and Holly making preparations for the trip to Titan, however, due to the level of mutual distraction they keep bungling their tests and deside the best way to keep working together is to ‘to eat their dessert’ which is a pseudonym for getting to third base just in case you were still wondering. However, Fargo, who should be delighted, seems to have second thoughts as he is wary of missing out the steps before...

Alphas ‘Catch and release’ review!

Alphas ‘Catch and release’ review!

This weeks episode of Alphas is entitled ‘Catch and release’ and guest stars Summer Glau (Terminator series) as an old Alpha team acquitance who has the ability to make astonishing things from electronics. After seeing this episode I can say that I really feel reinvigorated about this series, because ever since the episode ‘Rosetta stone’ it has been misses and before that things weren’t much better. The series revisits the Alpha team connections with government agencies and their struggle with...

‘Adrift’ game preview! GamesCom.

‘Adrift’ game preview! GamesCom.

Adrift is the first game from ‘Don’tNod productions’, a new studio from France. At this years GamesCom convention in Cologne they revealed the first details of ‘Adrift’ (working title), which is a shooter with adventure and rpg elements in a trend that has been popular for a few years. The game is obviously inspired by cyberpunk with its neon/high-tech look reminiscent of movies such as Blade runner and The Fifth Element. However, the choce of setting isn’t so odd for...

Warehouse 13 and Alphas review!

Warehouse 13 and Alphas review!

I finally managed to get round finding time to write a review for this weeks episodes of Warehouse 13 and Alphas. Unfortunately, one reason why I delayed writing a review was that both episodes were mediocre as best this week. That’s why both reviews won’t be as extensive as normally as I have already described both shows shortcomings before and now like a perfect storm they found their way into these episodes. Warehouse 13 ‘Don’t hate the player’ , starts...

Eureka ‘Of Mites and Men’ review!

Eureka ‘Of Mites and Men’ review!

This weeks episode we saw another good attempt from the producers to force the mythology of Eureka full ahead. With the cancellation season 6 I can’t see that changing until the bitter season 5 end. Last weeks episode saw Dr Blake being mind-controlled by our former hot hostess Dr. Beverly Barlow. This week Dr. Blake is back at GD looking to resume her work as head of GD. However, Senator Wen is in town and she like most people (including Carter) can’t...

Blade Runner sequel in the works!

Blade Runner sequel in the works!

IGN.com has an interesting story, apparently Ridley Scott is working towards Blade Runner 2, a sequel to the 1982 original starring Harrison Ford. Though rumors first started to seem about two years ago on a Blade runner sequel things took a turn when Prometheus was announced, the long awaited prequel to Alien. Now it would appear Blade Runner 2 is back in the works. I still think the original is the best sci-fi movie ever so my expectations for the sequel are mixed....

Fringe season 4 preview!

Fringe season 4 preview!

On the 23rd of september Fringe will be back for another season of 22 episodes. Last season didn’t do too well in the ratings and ever since season 2 there have been rumours of cancellation which have all been subsequently disputed most vigorously by Fox. However, with an average viewership of season 3 of less than 4 million the show has definitely taken a hit from the high days when viewership regularly topped 9 million. One thing season 4 will try to do...

Warehouse 13 renewed for season 4!

Warehouse 13 renewed for season 4!

Yes, one of the few sci-fi shows that the Syfy channel still has is being renewed for a fourth season. That’s just days after a sixth season of Eureka has been canceled (though of course season 5 is still on). Too some this seems like an unlikely course of events as Warehouse 13’s ratings have not been that strong either. Though an apparent minor increase in viewers this season has led to the decision to commission another 13 episodes. Still, according to most fans...

Alcatraz preview!

Alcatraz preview!

Early next year another sci-fi show will début from ‘Bad Robot Productions’, the first one being ‘Person of interest’ for CBS and the second being ‘Alcatraz’ for Fox channel. ‘Alcatraz’ will star lost actor Jorge Garcia as Dr. Diego Goto, an expert on Alcatraz island and especially the mysterious disappearance of 302 wardens and prisoners over 50 years ago. He will be joined by Rebecca Madsen, played by Sarah Jones (House, Sons of Anarchy). Together they investigate the sudden reappearance of the missing wardens and...

Alphas ‘Never Let Me Go’ review!

Alphas ‘Never Let Me Go’ review!

‘Never let me go’ is the latest episode of Alphas. After last weeks excellent episode I was really anticipating this one as well. Though it is ultimately not as good as last weeks we do get to see the alphas formula starting to mature, and it doesn’t disappoint. The story is simple enough, there are unexplained deaths at a highschool and the Alpha team is sent to investigate. This week they got badges and they now belong to DCIS (DCIS!!!! as gary likes to...

Star Trek ‘Cast no shadow’ book review!

Star Trek ‘Cast no shadow’ book review!

‘Star Trek Cast no shadow’ is set in the original Star Trek universe and not the 2009 reboot. Which isn’t surprising as apart from the movie and a few young adult novels the new universe has not been expanded upon. ‘Cast no shadow’ is set 7 years after the events of ‘The Undiscovered country’, the sixth and last movie with the original cast. In essence the book tries to answer questions that went unanswered from the movie as well as...
