Luigi's Mansion 3 Review 5

Luigi’s Mansion 3 Review – the best Halloween game ever

The latest game to play on the Nintendo Switch is Luigi’s Mansion 3. Of which this is a mini-review after having played about 10 hours. The game is surprisingly enough not developed in-house by Nintendo, but instead by Next Level Games from Vancouver. With a lot of games set within the Mario or Zelda universe I have the tendency to become bored with the introductory dialogue. The plot is usually flimsy and oftentimes impossible to click through with sufficient speed. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is different. The story does not take itself too seriously and Luigi is source of deadpan humor....

Resident Evil Zero review on Nintendo Switch

The Resident Evil franchise can trace its origin back to 1996, with its release on the PlayStation. Since then numerous sequels and standalone games have been produced, as well as a number of movies best forgotten. Below is a review of the official prequel – Resident Evil Zero. I played my first game in the franchise on the GameCube, back in 2002. It was in fact a remaster of the original. I actually I got the game for free after winning a online contest. Now, several of the games have again been remastered. For those losing track let me summarize....

Firewatch on Nintendo Switch Review

Back in early 2016 newly formed game developer Campo Santo had a a hit on its hand with their adventure game Firewatch. The mystery-telling game has now also been released for the Nintendo Switch. For those wanting to play the game, which can be bough for 15 euros in the Nintendo eShop, have to be aware of a few caveats to this otherwise excellent title. Longmire land Firewatch is set in 1989 Wyoming (yes, Longmire land). You play as Henry, a man in his forties seeking some time alone in the wilderness after his wife is diagnosed with early on-set...

Diablo 3 Switch Review 2

Diablo 3: The Eternal Collection Nintendo Switch Review

Diablo 3 I own a Nintendo Switch for about a year now, and I am still trying to make up my mind about it. On the one hand, it is compact, has some really good first party games as well as a vibrant indie game market. On the other hand, the lack of third-party triple A games remains a sensitive nerve. There is a lot about the Nintendo switch that reminds me about the GameCube. Yet that console had Metroid Prime, Star Wars Rouge Squadron 2 and Beyond Good and Evil just to name a few. No Star Wars The Nintendo...

Skyrim on Nintendo Switch Review 6

Skyrim on Nintendo Switch Review – a mostly successful second lease of life

Skyrim on the Nintendo Switch Review One of the games first announced for the Nintendo Switch was The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim by Bethesda. Skyrim was previewed in the Switch announcement trailer back last year. My initial impressions were not favorable, I did not want the new Nintendo console to become the dumping ground for ports of 5 year old games. Nonetheless, I believe the initial announcement did make the Switch more palatable for gamers and developers. Now Skyrim has been finally released for Nintendo’s new console and it comes hot on the heels of Super Mario Odyssey. One thing that Bethesda has done new is...

Wishing everybody a Happy Thanksgiving + some Black Friday tips

Happy Thanksgiving I wanted to wish everybody a happy Thanksgiving. I am sure that after all the roast turkey, pastries, marshmallows and drinks you will be looking to do something else. Perhaps even browse the internet to see what is worth your money on Black Friday. So what can you do during thanksgiving if all the fine dining is over? Well, if you need any persuasion in playing Super Mario Odyssey or Star Wars Battlefront 2 here are links to my reviews. Of course for Super Mario you will need a Nintendo Switch. I have uploaded an unboxing article just recently....

Unboxing the Nintendo Switch to play Super Mario Odyssey

Unboxing the Nintendo Switch I finally purchased the Nintendo Switch. After last week’s review of Super Mario Odyssey I hinted I would get one. I wrote that review using the Switch from a friend. But I suffered from Mario withdrawal symptoms during the week which pushed me over the edge. I doled out the necessary cash for one grey Switch console and a copy of Super Mario Odyssey. I know many of you have already played the console or watched it being unboxed, but I thought I would write an article about it nonetheless. Unboxing the Switch console couldn’t be easier. The box...

Super Mario Odyssey - Mario and Cappy

Super Mario Odyssey Review. Is it worth the price of a Nintendo Switch?

Super Mario Odyssey Review Mario is at again. After fighting Bowser for the gazillionth time (Error, not a number) while travelling on his ship – the Odyssey – he is stranded. The objective remains the same – save the princess before Bowser marries her. I won’t comment on the story, anno 2017 it may appear a little dated even for a simple hero vs. villain set up. Nonetheless, Super Mario Odyssey is the first full-fledged Mario game on Nintendo new console. The question is can the developer rise up to expectations in a world of Destiny 2, Assassin’s Creed and Unchartered? Mario is not...

Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch is coming in March and here is what I think of it!

Nintendo Switch After months of speculation Nintendo has fully unveiled its upcoming console, the Nintendo Switch. Officially it is labelled as the successor to the tepid Wii U, but with its portability it has potential for more. Along with last Friday’s announcements and press unveiling Nintendo revealed the console will sell for 300 dollars from March 3rd onwards. While the price may have been a little higher than expected the console certainly received interest due to its novel concept. A portable console To boil it down. The Nintendo Switch is a portable console. It does have more in common with...
