2019 Most anticipated Sci-Fi Series

If you are curious which Sci-Fi series will be the best in 2019 and you don’t want to miss any of them. Well, read my little list below… Another Life I make little effort to disguise that one of my favorite actresses is Katee Sackhoff. From playing Starbuck on the Battlestar Galactica reboot to Vic Moretti on Longmire I have probably watched most of her work. This year she will star in Another Life – a Sci-Fi drama created for Netflix. In the series Katee will play Niko Breckinridge, an astronaut tasked with exploring the origins of an alien artifact....

Syfy cancels Defiance

Syfy cancels Defiance – After 3 seasons fans will have to switch to Dark Matter, Killjoys and The Expanse

Syfy cancels Defiance In a surprise twist Syfy has cancelled Rockne O’Bannon’s futuristic series. Defiance has only completed its third season this summer, but the steadily dropping ratings were cause for Syfy to cancel it entirely. Defiance first aired in 2013 and was an experiment at a transmedia franchise. At the time of the TV-series launch a Massive Multiplayer Online game set in the same universe was released by Trion Worlds. The MMO game continuous and last year became free-to-play using micro transactions for revenue. Defiance starred Jaime Murray, Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Tony Curran and Stephanie Leonidas. Reasons In a statement released by...

Killjoys Finale Review

Killjoys Finale Review After ten episodes Killjoys’ first season has ended, and what a ride it has been. I initially wanted to dislike this show and paint it as a cheap afterthought to Dark Matter. It couldn’t be further from the truth. Michelle Lovretta’s efforts have been amazing. And both shows have proved they can co-exist as their pacing and story emphasize is totally different. Though I love Dark Matter there have been times I enjoyed Killjoys a lot more, this week’s finale is one of those episodes. For every character on the show big changes are coming, the nine families have decided not...

Killjoys S01Ep09 Enemy Khylen Preview

Killjoys holds it own… This Friday the next to last episode of Killjoys will air on Space channel. After that there is only the season finale the week after and the first season will have been completed. For a series that felt like an afterthought to Dark Matter and which received skeptical previews it has managed to transform into one of the most entertaining Sci-fi hours you could watch on a weekly basis. During the last two episodes the show has finally moved on from establishing the groundwork of the story. The series kicked into higher gear when our gang attempted to...

Quantum Break Preview – a Remedy blend of games & live-action

Quantum Break, the new Alan Wake or Max Payne? Xbox One is already 18 months old and so far is at has not managed to win over as many gamers as the PS4. However, the consoles best days may still be ahead. Halo 5 will release in the fall while Remedy Entertainment announced their hotly anticipated game Quantum Break will be released on April 6th 2016. That is still a long wait but at GamesCom in Cologne the studio also announced there will be a Live-Action TV show released to go with the game. Just like the game the live-action show will be...

Dash is too late to stop the murder. Minority Report Pilot Review

Minority Report Pilot Review – Fox takes another stab at Sci-Fi

Minority Report Pilot Review Today the pilot episode of Fox’s new Science-Fiction drama Minority Report leaked onto the internet. Several other TV shows such as Lucifer and Blindspot also had an episode released early by content pirates. It is as of yet unknown whether it has anything to do with the fact that the Redskins were renamed in the show, a nod to the team’s controversial name. As old news is no news I decided to write an early review of the leaked pilot episode. With people talking about the show on IMDB and elsewhere I think it can add to the discourse. Minority...

Killjoys ship sole survivor

Killjoys Episode 5 A Glitch In The System Review – Time for a mid-term for season 1.

Killjoys Episode 5 A Glitch In The System Review With this weeks episode of Killjoys – A Glitch In The System – 5 episodes have aired. The first season has thus reached the half-way mark, time for mid-term score. This weeks episode has an interesting main storyline: abandoned spacecraft, killjoys investigate, sole-survivor tries to kill them, AI gone haywire. It feels familiar, especially after last week’s episode Dark Matter, but it is the fallout of these events that really matter and they propel the show forward with more confidence than ever before. Killjoys – just like every other TV-Show suffered...

Syfy unveils The Expanse – A hard-boiled space opera by James S. A. Corey

The Expanse If all the news, panels and revelations at this years Comic-Conn weren’t enough Syfy unveiled The Expanse, the channels latest space opera. The series is based on the novel series by James S. A. Corey, the pen names for Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck. The Expanse has often been described as A Song Of Ice And Fire set in space. The comparison to G.R.R.M novels focuses mostly on the gritty politics and the shifting Point of View of each chapter. Critics will always judge The Expanse on these comparisons, but the famed author of ASOIAF has given the series...

Killjoys Premiere. Dutch and John

Killjoys Premiere ‘Bangarang’ Review

Killjoys Premiere ‘Bangarang’ Review After the première of Dark Matter last week Syfy is releasing another Sci-fi Adventure series called Killjoys. In many ways the release of two somewhat similar TV-shows is embarrassing as both claim to incorporate elements of Joss Whedon’s Firefly. While I relish at the prospect of competition, both shows also compete with Defiance which is airing concurrently. Keeping my attention on all three TV-shows who all occupy the deadly Friday night TV slot makes me a rather nervous SF fan. The Warrant is ALL! So what is Killjoys all about? Well, essentially the show follows John (Aaron Ashmore), D’avin and...

Syfy cancels Defiance

Dark Matter, Defiance season 3 to air tonight!

Dark Matter Tonight Syfy channel’s new TV series Dark Matter starring Roger Cross (Continuum, Orphan Black). Dark Matter is created by Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie, and is based on the comic book of the same name. I am not familiar with the Dark Horse comic books and so I can’t recommend them, as for the series. It has not been widely announced. I first reported on it last year because Amanda Tapping would direct an episode. After her work on Continuum and Sanctuary I though it news worthy. So what is Dark Matter all about? Below you can read the synopsis…...

Syfy adapts Dan Simmons Hyperion as a TV event!

Syfy adapts Dan Simmons Hyperion! The Syfy Channel continues its efforts to re-invent itself. In two days viewers can watch a new SF series: Dark Matter and a week later Killjoys. In the meantime, more fantastic news is out. Syfy adapts Dan Simmons Hyperion as a TV event! According to Blastr.com ‘Syfy channel will team up with producer/actor Bradley Cooper (American Sniper), Oscar-winning producer Graham King (Argo) and director/producer Todd Phillips (The Hangover) to bring the massive novel — the first in a tetralogy — to the screen’. There certainly seems to be more than enough talent attached to the project. Also...
