Latest Jurassic World buzz with new trailers and pics!

Jurassic World – A new Jurassic Park? Jurassic World poster from SciFiEmpire.net

One of the most anticipated summer movies this year is Jurassic World. Fans eager to see more ferocious dinosaurs are especially wondering whether it is any good. So far, the buzz has been fantastic and the hype has certainly picked up. However, those that have already seen the movie are obligated to not release their reviews until June 12th, the date the movie is officially set to release. Nonetheless, as with many other movies some unofficial reviews have emerged. The veracity cannot be proven but these early, unofficial reviews, seem to indicate that JW will beat expectations. Expectations were already lowered somewhat when rumors came out that the movie would feature a hybrid dino, now known as Indominus Rex. To many this decision felt contrived and indicative of all bad things associated with sequels. I have since come to accept the decision. From what has been revealed of the plot so far the appearance of Indominus Rex is woven into the story. Claire and Owen near torn pod - Jurassic World pics

Jurassic World’s synopsis is as follows…

Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park. Isla Nublar, an island located off Central America‘s Pacific Coast near Costa Rica, now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. This new park is owned by Simon Masrani (Irrfan Khan), CEO of the Masrani Corporation. Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), a member of the park’s on-site staff, is a trainer on a group of Velociraptors, known as Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo. At the corporation’s request, the park’s geneticists create a hybrid dinosaur known as Indominus rex (created from the DNA of Giganotosaurus, Rugops, Majungasaurus, and Carnotaurus) to boost visitor attendance. Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) is the park’s operations manager. Her nephews, Zach (Nick Robinson) and Gray (Ty Simpkins), are visiting the island when the hybrid escapes and are subsequently caught up in the creature’s deadly rampage. It then becomes the responsibility of Owen and his security team to contain the hybrid dinosaur before she can cause more damage. What about Jurassic Park?

Some fans have also come to realize that the original 1993 Jurassic Park movie is perhaps not all that good. It is certainly not perfect, too many Steven Spielberg moments blemished what otherwise could have been a fantastic movie. At this stage it is difficult to say where the franchise is headed. The previous sequels to Jurassic Park were borderline ridiculous. As JW is also intended to act as a reboot is has created more options. Director Colin Trevorrow will not be back for Jurassic Park 5. He has called it quits. The doubt remains whether the pressure of the job got to him. Josh Whedon’s weird tweet didn’t make things easier either. For now, I will give JW the benefit of the doubt. I hope it won’t disappoint me as Avengers 2 did. Come back to SciFiEmpire soon for the Jurassic World review. In the meantime enjoy the high resolution pictures of Jurassic World courtesy of Universal Pictures. Some maybe high-res version of old previously released pictures but plenty are new. I especially like the one with Bryce Dallas Howard holding the flare. Very badass and a wonderful homage to Dr. Alan Grant.
