The infamous graphic novel The Incal by Alejandro Jodorowsky and with art from Moebius is being adapted into a movie by Taika Waititi.
It is a surprising piece if news just a day after Dan Simmons Hyperion was also confirmed to be adapted (series or movie). The Incal is infamously a weird story, it certainly has many deeper themes that have been analyzed over the years but the weirdness also acts a barrier. Clearly Taika, no stranger to weird movies, is comfortable with this. The Incal allowed itself to inspired by Dune, after Alejandro Jodorowsky failed to create an adaptation and was itself inspiration for The Fifth Element, so great things are expected.
What do you guys think about this news. Should Taika do it, or move over to something else?
