The series stars Michelle Yeoh as Captain Georgiou, Sonequah Martin-Green as first officer Michael Burnham, Jason Isaacs as Captain Lorca; Doug Jones as Lt. Saru; James Frain as Spock’s father; and Anthony Rapp as Lt. Stamets. The trailer flashes by quickly and an appearance of Captain Lorca can’t be confirmed. However, both Yeoh and Martin-Green’s characters are. The trailer shows a quick sequence of scenes. We see a young Sarek talking to both Spock and Burnham.

We see a lot of interaction between Georgiou and Burnham. At one moment they even appear to be crossing a desert planet together. The trailer also shows several of the new alien cast members, including one who can foreshadow the future as he remarks death is near. Finally we get our first ‘official’ glimpse of the new Klingon look. Although they differ a lot form the old look there are similarities. The new look will have fans question whether it is really how Klingons will look on Discovery or whether it is an disguise.
