The Dark side, and the Light….
Finally, after almost two years of hearing how Star Wars episode 7 has been in production fans will finally get to see some footage. In all the excitement about the trailer that has been slowly building for weeks you would almost forget Jurassic World debuted a trailer as well. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. I saw, it was crap. Well, it was really! Bryce Dallas Howard is hot, Chris Pratt is cool but the hybrid dinosaurs idea just stinks. And you who put the kid from E.T in there?
Anyway, forget about JW. Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens has finally received its trailer. It is only a teaser, but as J.J. Abrams managed to keep things under wraps we still learn a lot. You can start watching the trailer immediately below…
Star Wars Episode 7 trailer released….
My first reaction to the teaser was flabbergasted full tilt. I didn’t like the droid that could move by spinning its body. But the new storm troopers and their shiny plastic armor sold me right away. The teaser suggests that J.J. Abrams has at least focused on what made the original trilogy a success by decreasing the scale somewhat. The voice that utters the words ‘The Darkside, and the light….’ is probably that of the antagonist but it does have something familiar. Of course the dark clothed villain in the frozen woods soon unveils a hilted saber, the color red is solely used by the Dark Lord of the Sith. Sadly, I am not convinced the sound of the saber is classic trilogy authentic. I hope we won’t have the same controversy as with he voice of Bane from TDKR but this is elementary.
Star Wars Episode 7 is a difficult movie to produce for Disney and LucasFilm. The prequel trilogy pretty much destroyed our hopes of ever getting that vibe from A New Hope and the Empire Strike Back. You know what I mean, scenes such as the double star sunset in which you can just feel the force flowing from the big screen. The Empire Strikes Back did it all again with expanding the back story of Darth Vader, Yoda and the Empire. In my opinion the only way Star Wars 7 can succeed is to fully cater to fans of the classic trilogy and hope a new audience can be gained by word of mouth. I mean, who hasn’t seen Episode 4 A New Hope by now?
Star Wars Episode 7 has a scheduled release date of December 18th 2015 (not 2014!). So yeah, 2015 will be one crazy year. This was Star Wars Episode 7 trailer released.
