Jurassic World opens website with countdown clock and photos
On June 12th 2015 the fourth movie of the Jurassic Park franchise entitled Jurassic World will hit the big screen. Fans have since the original 1993 from Steven Spielberg demanded a proper sequel to Michael Crichton’s thriller novel. Universal Pictures finally launched the official website for the Jurassic World yesterday. It features tantalizing links to two fake websites (Masrani Global and InGen). they will no doubt be the principal organizations behind Jurassic world. It also shows 10 new screenshots and a countdown clock. The latter has still just over 9 days left until it hits zero. Fans have speculated that finally they will get their teaser trailer. Fans speculated it would be shown with Interstellar but they were disappointed.
Jurassic World has an impressive cast including Chris Pratt whom we know from Guardians of the Galaxy. As well as Bryce Dallas Howard (Terminator Salvation), Vincent D’Onofrio and BD Wong. Bd Wong we knew as the geneticist Henry from the first movie. Slowly but surely I am starting to look forward to JW. As it is a partial reboot of the series it has the best chance of mixing dinosaurs with science fiction and horror elements. Both Jurassic Park sequels failed in that regard. Meanwhile fans have become worried about the rumors that there will be dinosaur blends. It harkens images of dinosaurs fitted with lasers seen comics, thus spoiling the paleontology part. While the director Colin Trevorrow has not denied their existence in the movie he has had to calm the nerves of fans by stating they won’t be the bulk of the dino population. However as this is only his fourth movie some fans continue to think he may not be up to the job.
The dino blend controversy doesn’t seem to end. Comic Book Movie found a picture of Lego D-rex. It is supposed to be a genetic blend of two dinos and they pose it will indeed be a central theme of the movie. I think it will merely serve to have fans up in arms. However, after a movie has been in production for years you can’t make major alterations to the script. With principal photography long over there is little chance of that anyway.
From the 10 new pictures that can be seen on the new website it look as though the production values are high. In my opinion the 1993 movie failed somewhat in that regard. For now we have to wait for the teaser trailer to make any further judgement about where the movie is headed. As I said, I am starting to warm up to Jurassic World. It is strange that 2015 should have so many franchise reboots: Star Wars Episode 7, Terminator Genesis, Mad Max and now Jurassic World. My instincts tell me I should prefer original work but nothing beats an established franchise. This was Jurassic World opens website with countdown clock and photos, I hope you enjoyed the read.
