J.J. Abrams confirmed to direct Star Trek sequel!

Yes, finally after months of near certainty it is now official…. J.J. Abrams is set to direct the 2009 Star Trek sequel. According to the news wires the script should be finished before the end of the month ans hooting should start during the winter. No word yet on the release date, but…. Christmas 2012 is a slight possibility if preproduction has already started. However, summer 2013 is a lot more realistic.
