Cyberpunk 2077 The Complete Official Guide Collector’s Edition

Since December 10th of 2020 Cyberpunk 2077 has been my favorite game of the last 10 years. I have put in about 40 hours into the game until now. And that is frankly not a lot, I feel like I just started to know Night City. So far I have completed two endings with my female V, so I have got 2 or 3 left to go. Completing two endings doesn’t mean I have played the story twice, CD Projekt RED has neatly provided a save mechanism from which you can load into the game just before the start of the final quest. That quest will decide how you end the story, but in order to unlock every possible ending you have will played the game in a particular way. If you shot every ally and thug you came across you may not get the happy ending you wanted.

To know how to complete story quests the right way, and what options you have you will need a guide. Online resources are available but incomplete. CD Projekt RED have been thoughtful to create the Cyberpunk 2077 The Complete Official Guide Collector’s Edition. For $24.99 dollars and over 450-pages in length this guide is a steal. There is also a normal edition for $17.99 but as that is a paperback and not hardback, I would not recommend it. I want my copy to last and not have its pages hang because of its weight. I did not purchase the DVD copy of Cyberpunk 2077. Instead, I just bought a digital copy from Steam. So, for me the Cyberpunk 2077 The Complete Official Guide Collector’s Edition is as much a memento of the long journey it took to release this game.

What is inside Cyberpunk 2077 The Complete Official Guide

So, what does this official guide include? Well, most of it is taken up by the quests. These are divided into the main jobs, the side jobs, the gigs and the hustles. Beyond that there are also the Cyberpsycho sightings which are basically mini-bosses. In fact, almost 200 pages are dedicated to the various quests. Each is richly detailed with screenshots and their location on the game map. Strategies for completion are also suggested as well as the consequences of your actions on the story. Finally, the loot you can earn is discussed so you won’t end up forgetting to pick up a luxury weapons, boots or skirt when you whack your target. The information on the quests is in fact so detailed there is quite a bit of information overload. If you are planning a visit to Night City yourself do read the guide beforehand, or skim through it.

Cyberpunk 2077 The Complete Official Guide Collector's Edition Atlas

But there is more! Cyberpunk 2077 The Complete Official Guide starts off with a primer on Night City. The first 110-pages or so explain how the city works, which gangs and powerbrokers there are. There is also a quick-start guide if you want to delve straight into the game. Finally, the last third of the book, about 150-pages, contains an atlas, discussions on your inventory, its management and skills. It tells you exactly what the effects are of perks and how much experience you need to unlock them. In short, this official guide is the end-all-be-all of Cyberpunk 2077. The guide ends with sections on Easter eggs and in-game pop culture. So, expect plenty of explicitly sexualized graphics. With the game being extended with a DLC sometime on Q2 some of the information might become dated, but right now it is just fantastic. This is a definite buy!
