Continuum Season 2 Premiere ‘Second Chances’ Review!

Second Chances is the first episode of Continuum second season. Continuum is a sci-fi TV-series produced by Showcase, but Syfy channel will also air the episodes starting on June 7th. Continuum stars Rachel Nichols as from the future CPS Protector Kiera Cameron who has teamed up with detective Carlos Fonnegra (Victor Webster), a cop from the present. Together they fight the terrorist group Liber8 as it seeks to prevent a future ruled by corporations. The plot outline of ‘Second Chances… Following the events of the season 1 finale, Kiera decides to work on the edge of the law, getting support and resources...

Continuum season 2 starts on Showcase tonight!

Continuum season 2 starts on Showcase tonight!

Tonight on Showcase Continuum will be back for its second season with the episode ‘Second Chances’. For those who don’t subscribe to Showcase, Syfy will start airing it from June 7th onward. Syfy Channel for that matter seems to have adopted Continuum as a show of its own. Season 1 may be best considered a rough diamond whose edges need to be smoothed. As it has been a somewhat disappointing year for Science-fiction on TV I am excited with Continuum’s attempt at boldly going were few shows dare to go. Here is a preview of tonight’s episode… Second Chances continues immediately were...

First Continuum Season 2 Trailer Online!

First Continuum Season 2 Trailer Online!

Well, the wait is almost over! Starting April 21st Continuum will be back for its second season on Showcase. Syfy viewers will have to wait until June though. For season 2 there is now an official teaser trailer featuring most of the principal cast. A central theme of the promo trailer seems to be how present actions can influence the far future. Season 1 sort of left this in the air with the young Alec Sadler (Erik Knudsen) stating that there were only two possibilities. 1. The future is whatever you make of it, actions thus have direct consequences. 2....

Continuum Season 2 starts April 21st!

Continuum Season 2 starts April 21st!

I can probably figure out what you’re thinking these days. With the return of Revolution and with other shows on air such as Elementary (Lucy Liu is just gorgeous), Person of Interest, The walking Dead, Supernatural and Nikita it is hard enough to keep up. Now you can add Continuum to that list as well, as it will be returning for its second season April 21st. Along with Game of Thrones (March 31st), Defiance (April 15th), The Borgias (April 14th) and Hannibal (April 4th). There are a few more but at least this partial list can show why it’s so hard to have fully working social...

Continuum season 2 in full production + release scheduled for April 25th!

Continuum season 2 in full production + release scheduled for April 25th!

Season 2 of Continuum has been in production since January 25th. Principle filming is in Vancouver and as such is very public. The latest pictures taken by members of the public and various news sites shows filming on the steps of the Vancouver Public Library, famous from The Sixth Day and Fringe. The production staff have also set up a pod cast with behind the scenes interviews with actors and set workers (see link below). As for season 2. It is tentatively scheduled for a April 25th release date and will span 13 episodes instead of 10. From the pictures...

Continuum Season Finale Endtime Review!

Continuum Season Finale Endtime Review!

Endtime is the finale of the first season of Continuum. After ten episodes I can categorically say that I want more. Most TV-shows that are considered great have had worse quality first seasons than Continuum, Endtime is in fact the best TV hour since Game of Thrones season 2 episode ‘Blackwater’. I might add that though Continuum started out as a straightforward time-travel show this last episode of the first season is a real mind-fuck that not only sheds new light on earlier events but will also keep fans arguing until the second season. The plot of ‘End time’… The episode starts with Liber8...

Continuum Season 1 Finale ‘End Times’ Preview!

Next Sunday the last episode of the first season of Continuum will air on Showcase, the episode is entitled ‘End Times’. The story seems to deal with the possibility of altering history. We already know that the so-called grandfather paradox isn’t valid in the Continuum universe as Kellog’s grandmother was killed yet it didn’t influence his existence. Now, Kiera is going to try and prevent a terrorist attack from happening, and we are really going to find out whether an important event in history can be prevented. From the looks of the stills below and the previous promotional trailer we can see that...

Continuum Family Time Review!

Continuum Family Time Review!

Family Time is the ninth and second to last episode of continuum’s first season. Unlike previous episode it is set almost exclusively on Alec’s farm. The episode acts a jump-board to the season finale ‘Endtime’ of next week. As such it offers less action and more drama as multiple plot threads need to be advanced. The plot of Family Time… Carlos (Victor Webster) and Kiera (Rachel Nichols) have come to visit the farm of Ann Sadler and Roland Randol to investigate the purchase of 1500 kg of ammonium nitrate. Alec (Erik Knudsen) and Kiera are surprised to see each other but Alec diverts suspicion by stating he recognizes...

Rachel Nichols as Kiera Cameron - Family Time - Continuum

Continuum Family Time Preview ***UPDATED***

Family Time is the second to last episode of Continuum and it seems that it will try to unravel the multitude of plot line and questions that have arisen from the previous 8 episodes. Liber8 and its leader Kagame (Tony Amendola) have finally concluded that Kiera Cameron (Rachel Nichols) has managed to defeat because of the help she got from the present day Alec Sadler (Erik Knudsen), as such they will try and eliminate him (not shown in the screen below). Alec has retrieved a message from his future self from Kiera’s implant that could explain why Liber8 travelled back in time and why...

Continuum Ep-8 Playtime Review!

Continuum Ep-8 Playtime Review!

This week’s episode of Continuum was the first after a number of great episodes which ‘missed’ the mark. As this being episode 8 and with only 2 more episode to go there was probably a need by the creative staff to fill up the plot in order to lay the groundwork for the season cliffhanger. However, its execution feels a little underdone even if it succeeds in drawing two background characters into the foreground. Playtime does succeed in filling up its 43 minutes with a lot of plot development, just like the rest of Continuum this episode feels really tightly...

Continuum episode 8 ‘Playtime’ Preview! **UPDATE Promo trailer**

Continuum episode 8 ‘Playtime’ Preview! **UPDATE Promo trailer**

Fans of Continuum are slowly starting to wonder why Showcase hasn’t renewed Continuum for a second season, normally this is done when the show is still airing in order to show confidence. However, as Continuum will have a short first season of only 10 episodes it is actually well possible that the decision could be delayed by as much as a few months until production for a second season has to be green lighted. The ratings for continuum hardly tell the complete picture as those are just for Canada and the online income of this series is unknown to anyone but Showcase....

Continuum “The Politics of Time” Review!

Continuum “The Politics of Time” Review!

Many viewers of Continuum commenting on bulletin boards on the internet have commented that the show isn’t as good as Fringe, they mostly complain about the fact that there is less humor and horror. I think Continuum is still finding its way with those things and I think there is a risk that with too much humor the basic premise behind the series will be in jeopardy. At this moment the threat that Liber8 poses, the background story of events in the future surrounding Kiera and Kagame have in my mind really put things on a knives edge. With the start of Continuum I have been...

Continuum ‘The Politics of Time’ Preview!

Continuum ‘The Politics of Time’ Preview!

Next Sunday the seventh episode of Continuum will air. After the appearance of Kagame this show will yet again go into new direction as Kiera (Rachel Nichols) gets sucked into the politics of 2012 when her partner Carlos Fonnegra (Victor Webster) is accused of murder. This episode thus promises to show background on Carlos and perhaps also tell us why his VPD partner Betty Robertson (Jennifer Spence) has a crush on him. Here is the synopsis for ‘The Politics of Time’… The high-stakes Union Election gives Kiera her first taste of contemporary political intrigue.  But issues of trust and loyalty come up for Kiera as evidence...
