The Force Awakens update + Gwendoline’s Phasma dress!

The Force Awakens update It is only two weeks to go until the official release of Star Wars The Force Awakens on December 18. As a Star Wars fan I am starting to wonder what is going to be a bigger event: Christmas, the New Year or The Force Awakens. One thing is for sure, I am not going to finish that software project for a client I am have been working on. Late 2015 certainly is slipping into Spring 2016. So what news has there been for the Force Awakens? Director J.J. Abrams had stated that he has screened...

Kylo Ren torturing (played by Adam Driver). The Force Awakens trailer released

Disney releases The Force Awakens trailer, still no Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker!

The Force Awakens trailer released Disney has finally released the full length trailer for The Force Awakens, the upcoming Star Wars movie that is so hot it needs to be touched with special asbestos gloves with little jawa’s printed on it. The buzz surrounding J.J. Abrams movie is reaching epic heights, not seen since the release of Episode 1 (one elephant out of the room). That said, actually very little about the story is known. The official trailer released this evening, last night for me in Europe, filled in a few gaps. The trailer seems to suggest a very story and...

*** UPDATED *** The Force Awakens poster preview + opinion on Star Wars action figures

*** UPDATE *** French website Les Toiles Heroiques has just uploaded a fats number of Star Wars promotional which includes high resolution version. Below I have pasted the official movie poster, but do check out the website for more. Do check out the website for more… The Force Awakens poster preview Last Friday (the 4th) was the official day that all the Star Wars The Force Awakens merchandise went online. Disney and LucasFilm coined it Force Friday. I am not really big on action figures, most of the stuff seemed cheaply made. I will probably get an action figure as a...

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is finally revealed Last weekend at Disney’s D23 con Star Wars fans got more news then they were expecting. A few days before director J.J. Abrams had said there would be no trailer or behind the scenes footage of The Force Awakens. I wasn’t expecting any to begin with. Instead Disney focused on all matters Star Wars besides the upcoming episode 7 (slated for December 18 if you haven’t heard). The most prominent focus of attention was the first the first of the Anthology Star Wars movies – Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The...

Star Wars Dark Disciple Review + Giveaway

Star Wars Dark Disciple Review + Giveaway

Star Wars Dark Disciple Review + Giveaway On the road towards Star Wars Episode 7 slated for December 18 LucasFilm is releasing new novels to fill in the storyline. I already reviewed Lords Of The Sith and gave it an average score. For a title as catchy as ‘Lords Of The Sith’ both Darth Vader and Darth Sidious were notably absent for most of the story. Can Star Wars Dark Disciple by Christie Golden do better? The title, Dark Disciple, indicates the reader can expect more Sith intrigue and this is correct. The story is set during the Clone Wars just before...

Star Wars Lords of the Sith Review

Before I progress any further with this review allow me to apologize for my absence. I have only just completed my master thesis, and though I like writing about Science Fiction my study does take precedence. But fear not, after May 19th I will be finished with that part of my life and then I can focus on SF, and my busy professional life as a data scientist! Lords of the Sith Review Lords of the Sith is one of the few novels recently released to set the stage for this falls’ The Force Awakens. However, after reading it I...

Star Wars Battlefront. Rebel troops on Endor fighting.

Star Wars Battlefront (2015) Preview

Star Wars Battlefront is back! During the Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim a teaser trailer was show for the new Star Wars Battlefront game. The game would actually be the third iteration in the Battlefront franchise. As it has been 10 years since the second game was released the franchise is starting over as a reboot. The new game takes place during the Original Trilogy but will have tie-ins with Star Wars The Force Awakens which is scheduled for release on December 18th. The Force Awakens also had a teaser trailer shown at the Celebration event which made ripples in the...

New Star Wars The Force Awakens Trailer Released!

New Star Wars The Force Awakens Trailer Released! Finally after months of hearing arguments about the merits of having crossbars on a lightsaber we as Star Wars fans are entertained by a new trailer. The second teaser trailer for Star Wars The Force Awakens reveals a great deal more than the first, but plenty of the principal cast have been left out. There is also only a hint about what the plot for the movie could be. The latter is something I prefer not to see until Star Wars 7 is put into general release on December 18th this year. The teaser makes it...

Star Wars News Roundup – Ep 8 & Rogue One

It has been a busy week filled with Star Wars News. Besides the many rumors surrounding Star Wars Episode 7 there was also genuine news about episode 8 and a spin-off movie. All this news seems to have displeased some when a storm of controversy erupted on Twitter surrounding the plot for the newly announced spinoff. Star Wars Episode 8 From day one it was announced that Episode 7: The Force Awakens would be part of a new trilogy that would be capped by Episode 8 and 9. What wasn’t known was who would direct it and who would write the...

Sith lord unveils light saber - Star Wars VII Lightsaber

J.J. Abrams talks about Star Wars VII Lightsaber

One of the most talked about scenes from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer was the new Sith ligthsaber. I dare say thanks to SciFiEmpire.net everybody got a high-resolution picture to pick their bone with. The controversy about the ligthsaber has hardly abated since the release of the trailer. Most think it is too gimmicky. After Episode 1 and 2 introduced new types of sabers it is hard to get around that argument. Many hope Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens will be an effort to move the franchise back to its roots. The question is why J.J. Abrams would...

Star Wars Episode 7 trailer released

The Dark side, and the Light…. Finally, after almost two years of hearing how Star Wars episode 7 has been in production fans will finally get to see some footage. In all the excitement about the trailer that has been slowly building for weeks you would almost forget Jurassic World debuted a trailer as well. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. I saw, it was crap. Well, it was really! Bryce Dallas Howard is hot, Chris Pratt is cool but the hybrid dinosaurs idea just stinks. And you who put the kid from E.T in there? Anyway, forget about JW. Star...

The Inquisitor recieving information. Star Wars Rebels Gathering Forces Review

Star Wars Rebels Gathering Forces Review

I thought it time to write a review of Star Wars Rebels, the new Star Wars animated series that replaces The Clone Wars. After the pilot and the subsequent 7 episodes I have come to like this show. The 22 minute duration makes it snappy if a bit short. The humor is top-notch but the series is not afraid to show a darker side either. It’s not like it got much of a choice after previous series. I think Rebels has the wonderful opportunity to broaden the coming story line that will be revealed with Episode 7 from J.J. Abrams. Star Wars...

Harrison Ford Star Wars Episode 7 injury more severe than thought

Harrison Ford Star Wars Episode 7 injury Harrison Ford’s publicist has confirmed to BBC News that the injury the actor sustained on-set is more severe than initially reported. The 71 year old actor broke his left leg on the Pinewood set on June 12th and had to be airlifted to hospital. “His surgery was successful and he will begin rehab shortly,” continued Ina Treciokas in a statement. “He’s doing well and looks forward to returning to work.” The actor is of course reprising his role as Han Solo in the new Star Wars movie directed by J.J. Abrams. According to rumors...
