Person of Interest - Lethe - Finch going out into the field

Person Of Interest S3Ep11 Lethe Review!

During the preview of this weeks episode of PoI ‘Lethe’ I speculated that it would be a jumping board for the second half of the season. Oooh boy was I right. Sadly the episode ends on a major cliffhanger that won’t be answered until January 7th. ‘Lethe’ takes a while to get going, using old enemies such as ‘vigilance’ as a red-herring and not resolving the plot of Reese being AWOL. However, when the episode does get going it goes of like a rocket. It’s last moments unveils such a conundrum for Finch and Shaw that you would almost suspect one of...

Person of Interest - Lethe - Mr. Finch and Mr. Claypool

Person of Interest S3Ep11 ‘Lethe’ Preview!

Reshuffle After a three week hiatus Person Of Interest will be back for one more episode on December 17th before another Christmas hiatus that will last until January 7th. The upcoming episode is entitled ‘Lethe’ and is the first after the ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy that shook up the status quo. ‘Lethe’ will in particular deal with Finch’s youth and hopefully explain the events that led up to him building The Machine. We know from hints in the dialogue between Nathan Ingram and Finch that he is/was wanted for subversion. I get a sense that with explaining this background of events the show...

Person of Interest - The Devil's Share - Don't fuck with Root (Amy Acker)

Person of Interest S3Ep10 ‘The Devil’s Share’ Review!

The trilogy that is supposed to reboot Person of Interest is over. With the latest episode ‘The Devil’s Share’ the series has been shaken to its core an hopefully found a new equilibrium. Since the middle of season 2 PoI has had its dull moments in which the show seemed to rehash old storylines and dealt with antagonists in a visceral way. With this reboot trilogy old enemies are finally taken care off once and for all and though some rules are broken others are shown to be watertight. This last episode is all about revenge, it is a motif...

Person of Interest - Quinn warns Carter that this is his city

Person of Interest S3Ep9 ‘The Crossing’ Review!

This week’s episode of Person of Interest continues immediately were ‘Endgame’ from the last week stopped. ‘The Crossing’ is the second episode in a trilogy that is intended to act as a reboot for the series. Person of Interest developed some problems during its second season when characters left the show in rapid succession requiring quick alteration to the storyline. Combined with the ending of the powerful character arcs for Mr. Reese (Jim Caviezel), Finch and Fusco the show has run on fumes. Season 3 saw the introduction of Sarah Shahi as Shaw to act as a counter balance to Mr....

Detective Carter (Taraji P. Henson) trying to assassinate Alonzo Quinn with sniper rifle - Endgame - Person of Interest

Person of Interest S3Ep8 ‘Endgame’ Review!

This weeks episode ‘Endgame’ pushes Person of Interest into a higher gear as the deaths of Laskey and in particular of Cal Beecher from the previous season set events in motion that threaten the lives of Carter, Fusco and even Mr. Reese. Endgame is the first of three episodes that deals with the HR vs. Russian Mob feud but more importantly with HR vs. The Man In The Suit (AKA Mr. Reese). In the previous episode review I complained about Fusco’s small role since season 2. I even hinted that other characters such as Mr. Reese and even Finch seemed to...

Detective Carter (Taraji P. Henson) following Price - Person of Interest

Person of Interest S3Ep7 ‘The Perfect Mark’ Review!

Once in a while Person of Interest manages to shine with a non-mythology episodes. It doesn’t happened often but it does happen. What also sets this episode apart is the resolution of the Carter/Laskey plot. The resolution comes in a cold and swift fashion that is familiar to PoI. Though it may have come too soon. The Perfect Mark In this weeks episode a con man name Hayden Price is the Person of Interest. Despite resorting to some very dirty tricks Finch (Michael Emerson) believes him to be the intended victim. Finch infiltrates his practice when Mr. Price uses hypnotherapy to illicit confidential information from clients. One client...

Sleepy Hollow - Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane & Nicole Beharie as Abbie Mills

Whats wrong with TV these days?

This week was hardly a good week for TV. It was worse than last week which itself was already mediocre. It can be that we are spoiled with too many good TV shows and we are expecting to be confronted with cliffhangers and denouements every episode. It does seem that after the initial excitement of new TV-series and seasons we have entered a bit of a rut. That said, some new shows such as Sleepy Hollow will need to try hard to keep viewers interested because it almost seems ripe for cancellation. Below is a list of TV-shows that I think need some rework. Strangely enough...

Person of Interest - Jim Caviezel as Mr. Reese in Reasonable Doubt

Person of Interest S3Ep4 ‘Reasonable Doubt’ review!

This weeks episode of Person of Interest reminds of the episode ‘Mission Creep’ from the beginning of season 1. Sadly the remembrance gives this episode the feeling that it is a rehash. Again we are following a PoI who is capable of staying out the hands of organized crime, the police and as well as our team consisting of Mr. Reese, Mr. Finch and Mrs. Shaw. this episode puts in an extra flair of ‘The Fugitive’ as we are tracking District Attorney Vanessa Watkins accused of the murder of her husband while no body was find. Yet, there appears to be all sort...

Sarah Shahi, Taraji P. Henson dressing up for nightclub in leather skirt - Person of Interest

Person of Interest S3Ep3 ‘Lady Killer’ Review

Person of Interest is a great show but once in a while you get a real stinker of an episode. I remember one or two from both earlier seasons but this episode is pretty much the lamest ever. I don’t think the creative staff purposefully set out to make a bad episode (why would they) but they certainly had the idea to bring in a serious element of drama that just falls completely flat. They went wrong when it became clear that the PoI of the week was not a serial killer but somebody who choose his dates by creating...

Sarah Shahi in Person of Interest opening sequence - Person of Interest

Person Of Interest S3Ep1 ‘Liberty’ Review!

Person Of Interest is back for its third season. Ever since May the buzz for this show increased when it became clear that both characters Samantha Shaw (Sarah Shahi) and Root (Amy Acker) would return as regulars. This enlargement of cast along with resolution of the ‘find-the-machine’ storyline considerably increases the scope of the series. PoI creative director Jonathan Nolan certainly seems to take effort in keeping this show on track after it almost got derailed during the first half of season 2. The first episode of season 3 of entitled ‘Liberty’. I have read some other reviews of the episode and...

Become a Person of Interest during its 3rd season!

CBS has a new way to lure fans of the show into its third season. Now you can upload your photo to the show’s Facebook page, from there on it might just show up in the show at any moment during the course of its third season. As you may remember CBS had something similar to promote the show’s initial release. At subway stations in New York and some other places you could stand in front of a camera and your picture would show on nearby panels with the words ‘person of interest’ in a visual style similar to the show. Fans...

Science-fiction & Fantasy fall 2013 TV schedule!

Haven. The first episode of Haven had already aired on the 13th of September. It was a good episode though it did have twists and turns that kind of destroyed the suspense. the shows creators seem to have taken up on certain criticism about the women in the show. Not only is Kate Kelton’s character Jordan not dead they have introduced a new female lead as well (Emma Lahana as Jennifer Mason). About Jordan, it is painfully clear she will be some sort of villain during this season, and I mean it… painfully… Person of Interest. Despite season 2 of Person of Interest...

Person of Interest ‘God mode’ Preview!

Person of Interest ‘God mode’ Preview!

I am glad to see that the Person of Interest finale scheduled for Thursday evening is so hotly anticipated by viewers online. As I mentioned in last weeks review of Zero Day PoI had some problems during the middle of its second season with character being killed off just because the actors playing them had scheduling conflicts. At this moment PoI is in as special sweet spot when it comes to plot development. So much so that a part of me is sad to see it unravel in the upcoming episode and season 3. Before all that happens there is...

Person of Interest ‘Zero Day’ Review!

Person of Interest ‘Zero Day’ Review!

This is the review of Zero Day, the first to last episode of Person of Interests second season. While this season has been notably bumpier than the first I am happy to say that the show has been able to get itself back on track. At this moment the sow seems to suffer more from having to many factions and characters than too few. As such this episode excludes some of those for brevity’s sake. Then again, we don’t want every storyline to be resolved now do we? The plot of Zero Day… The episode starts with Finch (Michael Emerson) and Reese (Jim...

Person of Interest Trojan Horse Review!

Person of Interest Trojan Horse Review!

This weeks episode of Person of Interest comes after a break of three weeks and unlike the previous two episodes focuses almost solely on the shows mythology. Trojan Horse is intended to set the stage for the season finale later in May by placing all the pieces on the board. A figure of speech emulated in this episode when Elias plays a game of chess with Finch and detective Beecher. The ‘number of the week’ storyline also ties in with the shows mythology and as such viewers will probably feel more involved than on past occasions. To top it all up, Sarah...

Person of Interest – Relevance – Review!

Person of Interest – Relevance – Review!

This week’s episode of Person of Interest is special in that it is the directorial début of Jonathan Nolan. Those who watch the episode will agree it is among the best episodes yet. Personally I think it is the best PoI has to offer. If that doesn’t convince you to watch it read the plot overview below and lament what you have missed on-screen. Relevance is the 16th episode of Person of Interest’s second season, so there are only 7 episodes left. As for the plot of ‘Relevance’… The episode begins with two C.I.A operatives tracking a group is Islamic militants...
