Review of Revolution – The Song Remains the Same

Review of Revolution – The Song Remains the Same

Review of Revolution – The Song Remains the Same…. Last week’s episode of Revolution ‘Ghost’ was a very effective pace setting episode. It redirected Revolution away from the ‘save Danny’ story arc from the first half of the show. However, many fans were upset with the myriad of goofs and flaws in the episode. Bringing a sword to a gun fight is still something the writers need to ‘make work’. This week’s episode, ‘The Song Remains the Same’, has fewer such problems but suffers from characters doing things that are, well, out of character. I know the show needs to...

Revolution ‘The Song Remains The Same’ Preview!

Revolution ‘The Song Remains The Same’ Preview!

Tomorrow the thirteenth episode of Revolution will air. Since the return of Revolution after it’s hiatus fans have received one dud episode and one that was above-average but suffered from some sloppiness. Last week’s episode (Ghosts) certainly set the stage but suffered from improbable knife fights and characters doing things for no obvious reasons. Early indications are that tomorrow’s episode will certainly up the ante. By the looks of it Major Neville will be captured by the resistance and Rachel is set to explain why the blackout occurred. There is also something with a nuclear bomb but I won’t write more less I should spoil too much. Despite...

Revolution WonderCon Trailer Revealed!

Revolution WonderCon Trailer Revealed!

Despite the fact that I didn’t write a review of last week’s episode of Revolution I can promise I am still very committed to the show. The previous episode existed mostly out of necessity to wrap up the storyline of the first half of season 1. It was OK stuff but hardly brilliant. To sum it all up. Danny boy bought the farm. Monroe has teamed up with Randall Flynn to get the electricity back on. Miles, Nora and Rachel are heading towards a complicated three-way relationship. End of story. Now that is over with we can look towards the future. At this...

Revolution The Last Stand Preview!

Revolution The Last Stand Preview!

In two weeks time NBC’s Revolution will resume its schedule with the last 10 episodes of season 1. The first episode is entitled ‘The Last Stand’ and continues where the explosive cliff-hanger ended. Despite the first half of the season being so-so the remaining episodes are highly anticipated by fans. The show has been in the danger zone for a while now because despite an intriguing premise it is a bit off-balanced when it comes to the quality of the action and drama. The mid-season break allowed for those deficiencies to be remedied but there is a danger the show would reach...

Revolution pictures spoil March 25th return!

Revolution pictures spoil March 25th return!

NBC has been so kind to post two stills and a new poster of their flagship TV-show Revolution. It is not much but at least the poster is way cool. Shame there is no HD version. If you can’t wait until March 25th for your shot of Revolution then watch the webisodes called ‘Wheatley’s Letters’ on YouTube. In the meantime I suggest that re-watching the first ten episodes. Especially the scenes between Rachel Matheson (Elizabeth Mitchell) and President Monroe (David Lyons). The second half of the season will also introduce President Foster (Leslie Hope) of the Georgia federation. Here is...

Revolution extended preview!

Revolution extended preview!

Revolution will be back on March 25th with an as of yet unnamed episode. The extended preview (below) starts with a rather snappy recap of the first ten episodes which show just how far the show has progressed. Revolution is at this moment in the danger zone when it comes to ratings. Major dislikes by fans have so far been the drama which is a bit artificial and the one or two dull episodes here and there. Also the character that Tracy Spiridakos plays has not been liked very much, though I personally disagree. Anyway, the second half of the season definitely needs...

Revolution ‘Sex and Drugs’ Review! +Update – More Tracy Spiridakos images!

Revolution ‘Sex and Drugs’ Review! +Update – More Tracy Spiridakos images!

After a two-week break Revolution is back with the episode entitled ‘Sex and Drugs’. So far the series is progressing at a steady pace, the storyline seems if anything quite able to keep some secrets from the audience without getting boring. Most fans have so far been a bit irate over matters such as the acting of certain actors and how like Terra Nova the plot seems to focus a bit too much on teen angst. Personally I am not really troubled about any of these issues, I am willing to give Revolution a chance and so far the show is...

Revolution season 2 banner - Elizabeth Mitchell, Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos and Giancarlo Esposito

Revolution ‘Soul Train’ Preview and ‘The Plague Dogs’ Review!

The fifth episode of Revolution is called ‘Soul Train’ and by the looks of the previews pictures and trailer it is going to push this series into a higher gear, the previous four episode are thus no more than an introductory to help set the story and the world of Revolution. Last episode of course saw the death of Maggie (Anna Lise Phillips) which the shows creators readily admit was a blatant attempt to create drama and show that the world of Revolution is not Terra Nova with its cute dinosaurs. Personally I think that drama isn’t Revolution’s major worry,...

Revolution Episode 2 ‘Chained Heat’ Preview!

Revolution Episode 2 ‘Chained Heat’ Preview!

The second episode of Revolution is entitled ‘Chained Heat’. It essentially continues were the pilot stopped with Charlie Matheson (Tracy Spiridakos) and her uncle Miles Matheson (Billy Burke) heading back home. The mysterious device seen in the last scene of the pilot which can undo the electric dampening effect (at least locally) seems to make a return in the second episode. The storyline of Captain Tom Neville and Charlie’s brother Danny Matheson (Graham Rogers) serves as the b-plot as Neville tries to follow his orders and bring Danny to General Monroe (David Lyons). How Monroe hopes to get an edge on disabling the dampening effects...

J.J. Abrams ‘Revolution’ Preview!

J.J. Abrams ‘Revolution’ Preview!

On September 17th Warner Brothers and Bad robot Productions will begin airing their new sci-fi series ‘Revolution’. It’s premise rests on a dystopian future wherein all electricity components have failed to work and people are essentially pushed back into a sort of Mad Max style dark age. The series has been created by Eric Kripke (Supernatural) and is produced by J.J. Abrams. From what I can tell the story takes place in two timelines, one in the near future that deals with the immediate aftermath of the ‘Blackout’ and follows Rachel Matheson (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Ben Matheson (Tim Guinee) while the other timeline takes place 15 years after...
