Defiance preview pictures revealed!

By the looks of it IGN has managed to get a big scoop when it posted a large number of still shots of UCP and Syfy Channel’s upcoming TV-show Defiance. The show stars Jaime Murray, Grant Bowler, Julie Benz and Mia Kirshner. It is set in a future world devastated by a war between humans and Votans (who are an ensemble of races). Don’t forget that the show has a Massive Multiplayer Online shooter called….. ‘Defiance’. It has a story that ties in with the...

New Star Trek Video Game Trailer!

New Star Trek Video Game Trailer!

Namco Bandai has released a new trailer for their upcoming Star Trek Video Game entitled ‘Salvation’. We’re calling it the Star Trek Video Game because it doesn’t have an official subtitle to distinguish it from the 2009 movie. STVG has been getting the same kind of buzz among gamers as the upcoming J.J. Abrams movie Star Trek Into Darkness scheduled for release in May this year. The Star Trek Video Game is itself scheduled for a April 23rd release on PC, Xbox 360 and...

Continuum season 2 in full production + release scheduled for April 25th!

Season 2 of Continuum has been in production since January 25th. Principle filming is in Vancouver and as such is very public. The latest pictures taken by members of the public and various news sites shows filming on the steps of the Vancouver Public Library, famous from The Sixth Day and Fringe. The production staff have also set up a pod cast with behind the scenes interviews with actors and set workers (see link below). As for season 2. It...

The Man In The High Castle meets Syfy Channel!

The Man In The High Castle meets Syfy Channel!

According to Deadline.com, Phillip K. Dick’s novel The Man In The High Castle is scheduled to be transformed into a four-part miniseries for the Syfy Channel. The series is to be produced by none other than Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Prometheus) and X-files writer Frank Spotnitz. According to the source the miniseries has been in development hell since 2010 when production started at the BBC. Perhaps because of the fact that the story is set in America it would indeed find better prospects...

Person of Interest ‘Booked Solid’ Preview!

Person of Interest ‘Booked Solid’ Preview!

Next Thursday Person of Interest will be back with the episode ‘Booked Solid’. Now that season 2 has been in full swing for a while it is time to look back. Has Person of Interest managed to live up to expectations? For the most part that answer is YES but there are plenty of gripes to be had with its second season. For one it took a while for the shows mythology to be brought to center-stage. Instead the procedural aspects of the show was...

Star Trek Enterprise season 1 Blu-ray cover - Jolene Blalock as T'pol - Scott Bakula as Jonathan Archer

Enterprise season 1 Blu-ray trailers and cover!

The Blu-ray release of Enterprise’s first season is more highly anticipated than you might think considering the series got cancelled after four years. After the end of Star Trek DS9 in 1999 and Voyager in 2001 fans of Star Trek generally agreed that the franchise needed a rest. DS9 fans couldn’t imagine another epic storyline in their lifetime and Voyager fans agreed with critics that Star Trek should be more than special effects and Jeri Ryan’s boobs. However, the executive producers of what was to...

Stargate SG-1 Unleashed Preview!

Stargate SG-1 Unleashed Preview!

This is a sort of good news / bad news kind of story. The good news is that MGM is not yet done with the Stargate SG-1 franchise as they are going to release an action video game. The bad news is that it will be exclusively for Android and iOS, meaning it is not a full-fledged console/PC game. It certainly is not the oft rumored Stargate Online game that fans have been drooling about. Unleashed is set for a March 2013 release date. So far...

Star Wars standalone movies confirmed!

Star Wars standalone movies confirmed!

CEO of Disney Mr. Bob Iger has confirmed that besides the upcoming trilogy of Star Wars movies we will also be getting some standalone movies set for release around the same time. As you guys probably heard by now the first movie, Star Wars 7, is scheduled for a 2015 release and will be directed by J.J. Abrams. So far, no details are known about the standalone movies but it does seem that Disney intends to recuperate the roughly 4 billion it paid to get...

For those who haven’t seen the ads for the Super Bowl yet, here are the two Star Trek mini-trailers that were released. The first was released before the Super Bowl while the other was the actual ad used to woo the millions in front of the TV. Star Trek Into Darkness will be released in cinema’s on May 17th in the UK and the USA. The movie is directed by J.J. Abrams (Mission Impossible and Lost) and stars Chris Pine and Benedict Cumberbatch. Star Trek TNG Season 3 Bluray arriving in April!

Star Trek TNG Season 3 Bluray arriving in April!

Thanks to thetrekcollective.com for the scoop, it seems that season 3 of Star Trek TNG (The Next Generation) will arrive late April on Blu-ray. For most fans of the show that day can’t come soon enough as season 3 is generally regarded as the moment when the show really took off. Compared to season 1 and 2 it has relatively few duds and boosts the rather spectacular ‘Best of Both Worlds’ as it final episode. This episode will also get its own Blu-ray release which...

Tron: Uprising Season Finale ‘Terminal’ Review!

Tron: Uprising Season Finale ‘Terminal’ Review!

Tron: Uprising’s first season 1 has finally ended, after the series started airing in May last year it has followed a rather irregular schedule which I think contributed to the show’s declining ratings. Disney has further honored the series by placing it in a midnight timeslot thus squeezing it off from a vital young demography. All this has irritated fans of the show who now understand that it’s first season may also be it’s last. I think Tron: Uprising is a top quality show and it’s season finale...

All present Science Fiction TV-shows listed (2013)!

All present Science Fiction TV-shows listed (2013)!

All sci-fi series 2013 listed. With Fringe ending and Alphas cancelled, so soon in the wake of the cancellation of Alcatraz, Terra Nova and Eureka you might be wondering just what Sci-Fi TV-shows are even on the air. For example, last year I only found out about Continuum just a few days before the release of the pilot while browsing the web. On various forums people seem to like the show but the first time they heard about was when it started...

Tron Uprising ‘No Bounds’ Review!

Tron Uprising ‘No Bounds’ Review!

Tron Uprising is a anime series on Disney XD set in the world of TRON that received a reboot/sequel back in 2011. The film wasn’t a major success but not a failure either as another sequel has already entered pre-production. Tron Uprising however has been in the danger zone for some time, I have watched every episode and found the series to be very good. It’s 22-minute per episode format does mean the plot is a little thin while the 30-minute pilot held so...

Fringe series finale ‘Liberty’ & ‘An Enemy of Fate’ Review!

Fringe series finale ‘Liberty’ & ‘An Enemy of Fate’ Review!

Yesterday evening our favorite sci-fi show Fringe finally ended with an excellent pair of episodes, a journey that started in 2008 at what I think is still J.J Abrams high water mark. Fringe tried to brings elements from other shows such as The X-files and The Twilight Zone together in a more drama pact show. This was both the show’s greatest asset and liability as it offered both the familiar and the predictable. Fans were initially skeptical of Frine’s two lead characters played by...
