Iron Sky trailer and poster revealed!

Yes I know, its one of those B-movie ideas that is being made into a blockbuster release. Ever since Quintin Tarantino released the Grindhouse flicks we have to put up with them and few of them were any good, this time it may be different as I have replayed this trailer all day over and over so there must be something good. I just hope that come release day the trailer isn’t the best part.

The movie is in production with a finnish company for the meager budget of 7.5 million so expect CGI all the way. The number of money shooters is also staggering but I guess not relevent for us. So what is this ‘space-nazi’ flick all about?

Well here is the official synopsis…

Towards the end of World War II the Nazi scientists made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity. From a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late ‘45 to found the military base Schwarze Sonne (Black Sun) on the dark side of the Moon. This base was to build a powerful invasion fleet and return to take over the Earth once the time was right.

Now it’s 2018, and it’s the time for the first American Moon landing since the 70′s. Meanwhile the Nazi invasion, that has been over 70 years in the making, is on its way, and the world is goose-stepping towards its doom.

So what can we say about the movie? Well.. it stars Udo Kier as a nazi and it has plenty of blondes in tight nazi uniforms and that would make it worth 7.5 euro’s of anyones money. The cast is complemented by Julia Dietze who will play the nazi blonde Renate, Stephanie Paul as president Sarah Palin and an assortment of other complete unknowns. Now, this movie isn’t going to be bad, it caters to fans of exploitation movies which is a genre in its own right. For most of us however the experience will be too alien but we will certainly be entertained while viewing it. The movie is scheduled for a april 4th release and after that it will be a staple at genre festivals for some time to come.
