First let me wish every visitor to this site a happy New Year, it’s been about ten days since I last posted a message but as there was a lull in the news reporting over the holidays I can confidently say you haven’t missed much. Most TV-shows will start to air again in about a week so expect coverage to start again soon. As for our gadget section, as a New Year pledge I vow there will be articles! Wow, aren’t you excited! seriously, one writer can only write so much but there will be articles! Now, for our first...

Despite Ridley’s comments to the contrary. Here is also the synopsis for those eager to know more… “Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a...

The Dark Knight Rises is set 8 eight years after the 2008 storyline and much has happened… But more on that later. Firstly, here is the trailer for your viewing pleasure… The Dark Knight Rises is directed by Christopher Nolan who of course also directed the two previous Batman iterations as well as sci-fi classics such as Inception and Memento. Third Riddick movie concept art released!

Third Riddick movie concept art released!

On Vin Diesel’s Facebook page the actor has shown some concept art for the upcoming Riddick movie. This third movie is slated for a 2012 release and entitled simply as ‘Riddick’. For a few months now the actor has released snippets of concept art. I hope this movie will try to trace back its roots and have a more character driven script. So far the Riddick universe has been a mixed blessing. The second movie was perhaps not the financial success hoped for but it wasn’t bad either. Personally I though its special effects were well executed and it’s story...

Prometheus teaser poster revealed! *Update – larger pic and synopsis*

Prometheus teaser poster revealed! *Update – larger pic and synopsis*

The first official poster for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has been released. It features a giant head which might be suggestive as to the origin of the aliens from the 1979 classic. Prometheus is set to be released on June 5th next year and I expect a teaser trailer to arrive soon. Here is the synopsis… “Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest...

Now wait for last year

Philip K. Dick’s ‘Now wait for last year’ is going to hit the cinema

Studio’s have since a decade been in love with both the name and stories of Philip K. Dick, before the year 2000 you could literally count the number of movies inspired by him from one hand. Now it seems that almost every year one or even two movies are released that claim the great author as their inspiration. Now we can add one more novel that will be turned into a movie. It’s the 1966 classic called ‘Now wait for last year’, strangely it doesn’t get mentioned often in the authors top five but then they either already have been made into a...

Guy Pearce in MS One: Maximum Security

Lockout gets new title – MS One! **Update – More Screenshots!**

About a week ago we showed the title for the Luc Besson written sci-fi movie Lockout. It’s low-budget action flick set for next year. The production company has however now decided upon a new title, it’s MS One: Maximum Security or Maximum Security One. The title change is probably due to wanting to give the movie a more sci-fi kind of name. The movie stars Guy Pearce (La Confidential) and Maggie Grace (Lost). The film has been directed by James Mather and Stephen St. Leger who also share credit for writing it with Luc Besson. despite that this movie screams b-movie I am strangely fascinated...

New Battleship Trailer!

New Battleship Trailer!

For may 18th of 2012 the movie Battleship is scheduled to be released. Though it certainly has been announced  a while ago, so far I  felt this franchise was a joke. Hollywood bought up the names of board games and tries to turn them into light-hearted action flicks. nonetheless Peter Berg is attached to direct and has made movies such as Virtuality and Hancock, and yes they weren’t great either. The premise of this movie is ‘Let’s copy Transformers’ and that’s it. Until this movie comes out and scores above average in quality you will never hear anything ever again on this website about this movie. Here is the...

Chris Pine gets to practice his ‘KHAAAaaan’!

Chris Pine gets to practice his ‘KHAAAaaan’!

After weeks of speculation the rumors have been finally debunked, Star Trek 2 will get Khan Noonien Singh as its probable main antagonist. To many this comes as no surprise, as it is a smart choice for die hard trekkies and the villain has lots of appeal to non-regular Star Trek viewers. Khan is of course famous from Star Trek 2 The Wrath of Khan in which he manages to obtain the deadly weapon ‘Genesis’, As his first appearance in Star Trek was during the TOS episode Space Seed there is no mention of whether the deadly genesis device will return. One twist...

1st Lockout Trailer!

It has been one of those days, during the weekend you travel the nets for search of news and come up nothing, and then on Monday… bang, you got three articles. Now we got the trailer for Lockout, a movie I have previously never heard of. Lockout is directed by James Mather and Stephen St. Leger, two people I have never heard of either. Lockout was also co-written by Luc Besson, and that sets of the chimes in my head. Luc besson is of course the famed directed of The Fifth Element, the 1997 classic. So what about Lockout. Well,...

‘All you need is Kill’ gets Tom Cruise!

‘All you need is Kill’ gets Tom Cruise!

Doug Liman, the director of The Bourne identity and Mr and Mrs Smith, is set to direct a new sci-fi movie entitled ‘All you need is Kill!’ based on the 2005 novel with similar title from author Hirsohi Sakurazaka. The movie has been rumored for some time now and it seems that Tom Cruise is now attached to play the male lead. The deal has not been signed yet but it is expected to done so soon. Tome Cruise is back for another round of sci-fi movies as he is also expected to star in Joseph Kosinski’s Horizons. Filming for the new...

Prometheus High Resolution Pictures!

Prometheus High Resolution Pictures!

The buzz surrounding Ridley Scott’s prometheus is definitely increasing. The last weeks or so has seen the revelation of murky set pictures and trailer. Suffice it to say Twentieth Century Fox was not amused by the leak of either material, complaining the piss-poor quality of the trailer would be a let down. The real version of the trailer has been promised to be released soon in all it’s 3d glory, until that time we have to make do we these high res stills from the set of Prometheus. Here too is a snippet from a press release…. Ridley Scott, director of...

Star Trek 2009 sequel release date revealed – 17th of May 2013.

Star Trek 2009 sequel release date revealed – 17th of May 2013.

Various movie news sites have revealed that the long awaited sequel to the succesful 2009 Star Trek movie is to be releases on May 17th 2013, or just over 18 months from now. It is sad that the release date slipped past 2012 but then again this movie has been in development hell for a quite a while and strangely that might be for the better. After all, plenty of quick sequels have flopped over the last few years (Iron Man 2 most notably). So, what else do know… – J.J. Abrams is still set to direct. – Shooting will...

Star Trek Sequel finally starts filming!

Star Trek Sequel finally starts filming!

According to Trekmovie.comand  IGN.com the sequel to the 2009 Star Trek movie will start filming on january. I would say that is about, if the movie is going to be released in 2013 a four year gap will have ocurred and frankly that would cast doubt just how many movies the present actors will make together before they are as old as shatner in The Undiscovered Country. TrekMovie has learned from...

Blade Runner sequel in the works!

Blade Runner sequel in the works!

IGN.com has an interesting story, apparently Ridley Scott is working towards Blade Runner 2, a sequel to the 1982 original starring Harrison Ford. Though rumors first started to seem about two years ago on a Blade runner sequel things took a turn when Prometheus was announced, the long awaited prequel to Alien. Now it would appear Blade Runner 2 is back in the works. I still think the original is the best sci-fi movie ever so my expectations for the sequel are mixed. On the one hand I would very much like to see Ridley’s hand in a sublime sequel but on the...
