Ender’s Game poster revealed!

Ender’s Game poster revealed!

This November the long-awaited Ender’s Game movie will finally reach the cinemas. For fans of the sci-fi novel from Orson Scott Card it means that the Bataan death March that lasted 28 years is finally over. The movie has been in development hell for several reasons. For a start it was thought that the adult theme of the novel excluded child actors as well the youth demographics for a potential audience. The other reason was that Orson Scott Card has some unpopular hardline ideas on homosexuality that is considered problematic by the studio’s. Finally, Ender’s Game is moving forward. Probably riding the wave of success left by...

Star Trek Into Darkness International Trailer!

Star Trek Into Darkness International Trailer!

Paramount Pictures has released the international trailer for J.J. Abram’s upcoming movie Star Trek Into Darkness starring Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Zachary Quinto and Benedict Cumberbatch. Star Trek Into Darkness is scheduled for a May 17th release in the US and it will be released in 3D. You can watch the trailer below, but I recommend you visit the www.apple.com and watch it in full 1080p. HOWEVER, there are a considerable number of spoilers in the trailer. Too many even for my taste. So don’t read the trailer discussion I have posted below. Things I discovered viewing the Star Trek Into Darkness International...

New Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer!

New Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer!

There is a new trailer for the upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness movie online that shows more of the background story of plot. In the trailer we see Admiral Pike (Bruce Greenwood) chiding Kirk for his recklessness and not abiding by the rules. Somehow this trailer gives our favorite characters such as Kirk, Uhura and the others a more dramatic dimension as opposed to their superhero image seen in previous trailers. Star Trek Into Darkness is scheduled to hit cinema’s on May 17th in the US but will hit European cinema’s a week early. The movie is directed by J.J....

Iron Man 3 Trailer is just Awesome!

Iron Man 3 Trailer is just Awesome!

Before May 3rd arrives (or April 25th for those in Europe) watch the new Iron Man 3 trailer that Marvel just released. Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark (Iron Man), Gwyneth Paltrow as his assistant Pepper Potts and Ben Kingsley as the movie main antagonist – The Mandarin. Don Cheadle reprises his Iron Man 2 role as Colonel Rhodes while Guy Pearce plays Aldrich Killian, a man who has created a dangerous virus (but that is not elaborated on in the trailer). I guess after that trailer your were speechless, so was I. I like the fact that the movies seems to leave no character...

Iron Man 3 posters revealed + Pepper Potts isn’t happy with Tony’s Helmet!

Iron Man 3 posters revealed + Pepper Potts isn’t happy with Tony’s Helmet!

I have never been a huge comic book fan, especially not superhero comics. The medium was always too much of a go-between of novel and motion action. If, on the other hand, a movie is made based on a superhero comic I will give it a try depending on the reviews and whether or not it maintains at least a semblance of plausibility (Batman, Kick-ass and The Walking Dead). Iron Man is one of those franchises and despite a disappointing second installment I am very much looking forward to Iron Man 3 (especially after The Avengers). Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr. (Sherlock...

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire victory posters released!

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire victory posters released!

The first thing on your mind when you hear ‘Hunger Games’ is Jennifer Lawrence photo-shopped picture on every billboard and internet banner there is. This year we get to do it all over again as the sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is slated for a November 22nd release in the US. And to mark the fact that there are only nine months left to release Lionsgate Studios has released two preview posters of antagonists Katniss Evergreen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) on their victory tour as they were the winners (survivors) of the 74th Hunger Games. As you might guess even if you haven’t read...

New slave Leia picture found (that means Carrie Fisher in a Metal Bikini)!

New slave Leia picture found (that means Carrie Fisher in a Metal Bikini)!

So, what now? You just might be thinking. Has George Lucas changed his mind on whether Greedo shoots first or was it definitely Han Solo. Or has it been confirmed that one of the spin-off Star Wars movies is going to be a mash-up with other J.J. Abrams franchises such as Mission Impossible and Star Trek. No. Someone uncovered a new image of Carrie Fisher as slave Leia wearing the infamous metal bikini she wore in Star Wars Return of the Jedi. The image uncovered was taken circa 1983 on a beach in California. The idea of slave Leia has both its supporters and detractors. Personally...

Zoe Saldana in wetsuit as Uhura - Star Trek Into Darkness

Star Trek Into Darkness HD pictures!

About a week ago Entertainment Weekly posted an article about Star Trek Into Darkness in their latest issue. The article itself contained only outdated data as they always do now in the information age. However, they did include some spectacular images from the movie itself such one of Benedict Cumberbatch as John Harrison and Zoe Saldana as Uhura. As it was from a magazine the resolution was poor. Now that has been remedied. Below you can find 5 high-resolution images of those EW shots. I will definitely add these pictures to my revolving wallpaper script, though two questions about Star Trek Into Darkness keep coming back. 1. Where is...

Star Trek Video Game (2013) behind the scenes footage from Namco Bandai!

Star Trek Video Game (2013) behind the scenes footage from Namco Bandai!

Game developers Namco Bandai have posted this ‘making of’ trailer for their upcoming Star Trek Video Game on Youtube. When I say ‘making of’ it is actually a new trailer with commentary from developers and studio officials. I must say it is the best trailer for the game I have seen so far. The trailer highlights the co-op elements and suggests that not only have Captain Kirk and Commander Spock different personalities that will show in the storyline but their style of gameplay is also different. Were Kirk relies on shooting his way through an army of Gorn Spock relies on stealth. I am...

Andrew Niccol’s sci-fi flick ‘The Host’ preview!

Andrew Niccol’s sci-fi flick ‘The Host’ preview!

This March Andrew Niccol will release his latest movie The Host based on the novel with the same title written by Stephanie Meyer (famous from the Twilight Saga). I must admit that I was only vaguely aware of the movie and so far tried to avoid because of its association with the afore-mentioned Twilight writer. However, upon reading the synopsis and viewing the trailer I think it is at least worthy of proper preview. In essence the story resembles others relying on teenage-angst and impossible romance. Though it would seem that Andrew Niccol has managed to insert a good deal of drama and thought-provoking sci-fi to make...

New Star Trek Video Game Trailer!

New Star Trek Video Game Trailer!

Namco Bandai has released a new trailer for their upcoming Star Trek Video Game entitled ‘Salvation’. We’re calling it the Star Trek Video Game because it doesn’t have an official subtitle to distinguish it from the 2009 movie. STVG has been getting the same kind of buzz among gamers as the upcoming J.J. Abrams movie Star Trek Into Darkness scheduled for release in May this year. The Star Trek Video Game is itself scheduled for a April 23rd release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. So far, much ado is made about the skydiving (space-diving?) sequences. I think they are OK but there will have...

Star Wars standalone movies confirmed!

Star Wars standalone movies confirmed!

CEO of Disney Mr. Bob Iger has confirmed that besides the upcoming trilogy of Star Wars movies we will also be getting some standalone movies set for release around the same time. As you guys probably heard by now the first movie, Star Wars 7, is scheduled for a 2015 release and will be directed by J.J. Abrams. So far, no details are known about the standalone movies but it does seem that Disney intends to recuperate the roughly 4 billion it paid to get the franchise quickly. I hope it won’t come at the cost of the franchises creative quality. Somehow I got this image...

Star Trek Into Darkness Super Bowl Trailers!

Star Trek Into Darkness Super Bowl Trailers!

For those who haven’t seen the ads for the Super Bowl yet, here are the two Star Trek mini-trailers that were released. The first was released before the Super Bowl while the other was the actual ad used to woo the millions in front of the TV. Star Trek Into Darkness will be released in cinema’s on May 17th in the UK and the USA. The movie is directed by J.J. Abrams (Mission Impossible and Lost) and stars Chris Pine and Benedict Cumberbatch. And here is ad number 2…. I still have to give a in-depth preview of Star Trek Into Darkness, but it won’t be long now. Source;...

Total Recall - Three breasted girl

Total Recall (2012) Movie Review!

This summer the remake to the 1990 movie Total Recall from Paul Verhoeven was released in theaters. Frankly it was a remake nobody was really waiting for as the original starring Arnold Schwarzenegger is just brilliant. So instead of a movie that adopts a Phillip K. Dick story that has not yet appeared on the big screen we get movie based on one that already has left a big legacy. The remake also choose do away with the whole Mars subplot and it’s mysticism and instead it tries something new with a transport tunnel through the center of the earth, which left me...

George Lucas sells LucasFilm for 4 Billion!

In news that took many people by surprise. George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars franchise and his own film studio Lucasfilm, will sell both to Disney for 4 billion dollars. In return George Will buy into Disney for some 2 billion and become a significant shareholder. This deal will also include the sale of the Star Wars merchandise business, Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound. According to George Lucas ‘It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers’. Others drew parallel with Disney’s previous acquisition of Marvel, also for the sum of...

Neuromancer Concept Art Revealed!

Neuromancer Concept Art Revealed!

The first concept art of Vincenzo Natalie’s Neuromancer has been revealed on the site of the movies production company – GFM Films. It has been made by Amro Attia who has worked before with director Natalie. Now it seems that the movie is officially in pre-production, whether it will star Mark Wahlberg and Liam Neeson as reported last week remains to be seen, that will become clear once principal photography starts. I expect that to occur in the autumn. The budget for the movie has been estimated at around 60 million, which isn’t a lot but considering Cypher was made with just 7.5 million, but one can expect Vincenzo Natalie...
