Terra Nova season 1 finale review!

Season 1 of Terra Nova ended with a two-part finale called ‘Occupation’ and ‘Resistance’. At this stage no decision has been made about a second season of Terra Nova, the ratings for the finale will all likelihood clinch the argument. As for the story… In part one of the two-part season finale, the 11th pilgrimage arrives, though only a few new colonists arrive before soldiers from the Phoenix Group disrupt the pilgrimage. Kara, Josh’s girlfriend, is killed in the fracas by a suicide...

New Fringe promo’s for ‘Back To Where You’ve Never Been’

The first bunch of episodes of Fringe have so far been mixed, personally I didnt think they were that engaging and catered too much to larger audience with their simplified plots. Subsequently it came as no surprise that viewer ratings started to drop. If things couldn’t be made any worse baseball got in the way of the ordinary program schedule. Thus the midseason finale was bumped to january 13th and we were stuck with a not so ‘Cliffhanger’ episode. Fears are  that viewers will continue to tune out. Rumors...

Star Trek game 2012 Digital Extremes

New Star Trek Game screenshots revealed!

Between the two movies, the novels and the comics it is almost possible to forget that there also exists a console game set in the reboot universe. This Star Trek game has so far got the simple title ‘Star Trek’, it is produced by veteran game developer Digital Extremes. Digital Extremes is of course famous for games such as Unreal and Bioshock. Officially the game is slated to appear only on Xbox 360 and PS3, but a PC version can’t be excluded. The has got...

Third Riddick movie concept art released!

Third Riddick movie concept art released!

On Vin Diesel’s Facebook page the actor has shown some concept art for the upcoming Riddick movie. This third movie is slated for a 2012 release and entitled simply as ‘Riddick’. For a few months now the actor has released snippets of concept art. I hope this movie will try to trace back its roots and have a more character driven script. So far the Riddick universe has been a mixed blessing. The second movie was perhaps not the financial...

Person of Interest – Number Crunch review!

Person of Interest – Number Crunch review!

‘Number Crunch’ is the tenth episode of Person of Interest to air, and if I didn’t know better I would say that this was a season finale as it ends on an almighty cliffhanger. Yet, I do know better. Season 1 is supposed to have 13 episodes even if it’s not clear when the other three episodes will air. One thing that I have stated many times before when reviewing Person of Interest episodes is that this show manages to reinvent itself time and time...

New Sci-fi TV-Series Ex-Comm revealed.

New Sci-fi TV-Series Ex-Comm revealed.

Ex-Comm is a new sci-fi drama from the hands of John Favreau (Cowboys & Aliens) and Roberto Orci (Fringe, the Island). The title refers to the Executive Committee that aids the president in protecting America from all strange and mysterious occurrences, and described as a cross between the ‘X-files’ and ‘The West Wing’, which are two of my favorite shows of the turn of the century. It certainly raises my anticipation. At this moment the number of sci-fi shows isn’t too great, often the...

Prometheus teaser poster revealed! *Update – larger pic and synopsis*

Prometheus teaser poster revealed! *Update – larger pic and synopsis*

The first official poster for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has been released. It features a giant head which might be suggestive as to the origin of the aliens from the 1979 classic. Prometheus is set to be released on June 5th next year and I expect a teaser trailer to arrive soon. Here is the synopsis… “Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of...

The previously announced sampler disc has episodes such ‘Encounter at Farpoint’ and ‘Inner Light’ will be released on Blu-ray on January 31st 2012. The real release of...

Now wait for last year

Philip K. Dick’s ‘Now wait for last year’ is going to hit the cinema

Studio’s have since a decade been in love with both the name and stories of Philip K. Dick, before the year 2000 you could literally count the number of movies inspired by him from one hand. Now it seems that almost every year one or even two movies are released that claim the great author as their inspiration. Now we can add one more novel that will be turned into a movie. It’s the 1966 classic called ‘Now wait for last year’, strangely...

Guy Pearce in MS One: Maximum Security

Lockout gets new title – MS One! **Update – More Screenshots!**

About a week ago we showed the title for the Luc Besson written sci-fi movie Lockout. It’s low-budget action flick set for next year. The production company has however now decided upon a new title, it’s MS One: Maximum Security or Maximum Security One. The title change is probably due to wanting to give the movie a more sci-fi kind of name. The movie stars Guy Pearce (La Confidential) and Maggie Grace (Lost). The film has been directed by James Mather and Stephen St....

Terra Nova – Occupation/Resistance promo video!

I have already written a preview for the Terra Nova season finale, but couldn’t publish the promo video yet. Which is what I am doing now!

Terra Nova – Within review!

Terra Nova – Within review!

This weeks episode of Terra Nova is called ‘Within’ and is the last stopover until the two-part finale scheduled for next week (see preview of Occupation/Resistance). As such ‘Within’ is intended to lay the ground work for events that will unfold during the finale. Though it has a number of revelations of itself I can’t but help feeling that the writers of this episode were holding back, in some places the show feels a little slow. As for the story… Jim and Taylor are laying...
